Friday 8th May Bath Asparagus Walk

Bath Asparagus was introduced by the Romans and grows almost exclusively in an area to the south of Bath.  We will meet at 10 am at Brown's Folly Car Park near Bath for a 7 mile walk through stunning countryside in the hope of spotting this rare wild plant.  Picking is forbidden, so we will lunch at a pub en route.

Saturday 23rd May  RV Salads and Baby Veg

A visit to one of our producer members, Richard Vine.  He grows salads and baby vegetables for restaurants. In addition to providing inspiration for gardeners the visit will also help us to understand the issues that producers are facing in the current economic climate as they try to balance the desire to minimise the use of fossil fuels with chefs requirements.

The tour will begin at 10am and last approximately 2 hours.  You are advised to take water to avoid dehydration in the heat of the greenhouses.  Following the tour we will adjourn to The Angel at Upton Scudamore for lunch.  Please contact Jane Panahy to book.  Jane.Panahy@iet.co.uk             Tel. 01225 864003

Sunday 7th June  Lunch from a Wood-fired Oven

Wood-fired ovens were traditionally used for community baking, so please do bring something along for either the oven or the barbeque.  We will start with pizzas at around noon, but it is open house from then until dark.

Venue: Westerly, Blagdon, North Somerset
